HMS 1 (Heavy Melting Scrap No. 1) comprises heavy, clean ferrous scrap such as beams, plates, pipes, and structural components over 6 mm thick—selected for its high density, low contamination, and superior mass-to-volume efficiency during furnace charging. Free from coatings, non-ferrous attachments, and excessive rust, it delivers uniform chemistry, stable melting behavior, and consistently high-quality steel output in electric arc furnaces, induction furnaces, and foundry operations.
